Heli Kuorikoski appointed responsible for textile fibre demo plant’s operations

The Board of Directors of MI Demo, which is owned by Metsä Group’s innovation company Metsä Spring and Itochu, has appointed Heli Kuorikoski responsible for textile fibre demo plant’s operations and MI Demo’s CEO. She will take up her new post on 1 June 2021. In her new position, Kuorikoski will report to Niklas von Weymarn, Chairman of the Board of MI Demo.

Kuorikoski has worked for more than 20 years at Metsä Board, a part of Metsä Group, in various positions related to customer service and product development. She will move to her new role from the position of Metsä Board’s Director, R&D Laboratory. Measures have been started to appoint a successor to Kuorikoski.

Kari Ala-Kaila, who has been the CEO of MI Demo since June 2020, will move to Metsä Fibre’s, also a part of Metsä Group, Business Development Competence Center as of 1 July 2021.

MI Demo has built a textile fibre demo plant in Äänekoski, which is in the trial run phase. At the same time, product testing is carried out in cooperation with various actors in the value chain.
